BREAST
SURGERY
For many women who are not completely satisfied with the appearance of their breasts, cosmetic surgery can be a viable option to address the most common issues and concerns. Wether it’s size or shape, proportionality with their bodies or aesthetic complexion, Dr. Gibson’s practice can help patients obtain natural looking breasts that will improve their overall image.
Patients who want larger or shapelier breasts can undergo breast augmentation surgery to achieve the desired fullness and size. Also referred to as breast enlargement, breast augmentation involves the placement of saline or silicone implants that are shaped and sized to meet each patient’s needs. Implants are placed underneath the chest muscle for a natural look and feel. In addition to women who simply want to increase the size or shape of their breasts for aesthetic reasons, some women wish to restore the appearance of their breasts after pregnancy or dramatic weight loss. Other patients may naturally have asymmetrical breasts and seek breast augmentation to achieve a more balanced bust line. Our plastic surgery practice works with each patient individually to meet her needs and help give her the figure she wants.
BREAST AUGMENTATION
Technically known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman's breast. The reasons for undergoing this kind of surgery can be to enhance the body contour women who feel their breast size is too small, to correct a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy, to improve symmetry in breast sizes or as a reconstructive measure after breast surgery. Dr Gibson offers saline or gel silicone (gummy bear) implants with peri-nipple and infra mammary incision options.

BREAST LIFT
Also known as mastopexy, the breast lift procedure is used to raise and reshape breasts that are sagging due to the effects of gravity, weight loss or pregnancy. The loss of shape and volume of breasts may cause some women to feel insecure about their figure and become uncomfortable with their appearance. By undergoing mastopexy, women see a significant improvement in their breasts shape and consistency. Dr. Gibson Will lift a ptotic (sagging) breast with a doughnut, lollipop or anchor incision, depending on the lift needed by each individual patient. Often both a lift and breast augmentation (implant) is needed to create the desired look a patient may want.

BREAST REDUCTION
Women usually undergo this procedure to correct uneven distribution of body weight in the breast, which can be the cause of neck and back pain, as well as difficulty to perform certain physical activities. Breast Reduction, technically known as reduction mammaplasty, consists in removing excess fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts, making them smaller, lighter, firmer and lifted. Our practice uses the inferior nipple pedicle technique to preserve nipple sensation

IMPLANT REVISION
Patients that are unsatisfied with a previous procedure may undergo plastic surgery to correct a variety of issues that the first procedure might have created. Such issues include deflated implants which can cause pain and other problems, improperly placed implants which can present wrinkling or folding, ruptured or leaking silicone implants and problematic scar tissue around the implant, also known as capsular contracture. All these concerns can be addressed by Dr. Gibson and his reconstruction team.
BREAST RECONSTRUCTION
Breast reconstruction is performed on women that have undergone a mastectomy or lumpectomy to address breast cancer, or that may have lost a breast as a result of an accident. This procedure is performed to reconstruct the affected area and help patients achieve a return to their previous bust line, thus allowing improvement in their physical appearance and self confidence.
We are able to restore a woman back a natural appearing breast and nipple complex. This allows women to wear bathing suits and a brazier with no outward appearance of any breast loss surgery. Dr Gibson’s practice prides itself on the most natural looking breast reconstructions. Dr. Gibson can perform immediate (at the time of mastectomy) and delayed breast reconstruction. He can offer reconstruction with your body’s own tissue or with tissue expander implant and a natural appearing nipple reconstruction.
